Get a Clean Smile

While dental emergencies can happen to anyone, our patients who commit to regular preventive care appointments usually experience fewer problems over time. Professional cleanings with a registered dental hygienist allow us to take a proactive approach to your dental health—addressing issues while they're small and potentially avoiding them altogether.

Despite your best efforts at home, deposits of mineralized plaque (called tartar) stick to areas of your teeth that are hard to reach. These deposits create a home for millions of harmful bacteria. Left unchecked, they flood toxins into your gums, resulting in chronic problems that can even lead to tooth loss.

When tartar is removed at your professional hygiene appointment, it doesn't have the opportunity to produce irreversible damage. We use professional instruments and prescription-strength polishing paste that gently buffs away stain and plaque, leaving your teeth ultra-smooth and shiny. Since discoloration settles into the enamel of your teeth over time, regular cleanings help slow yellowing while maintaining a glassy surface that's easier to keep clean at home.

Our hygienists are gentle, thorough, and here to make your visit as comfortable as possible. We'll answer your questions, show you the best techniques for brushing and flossing, and partner with you to keep your smile healthy for years to come.

Common questions
How often should I get my teeth cleaned?+

Most patients benefit from a professional cleaning every six months. However, if you have gum disease or a history of heavy tartar buildup, we may recommend more frequent visits—typically every three to four months.

Will my cleaning hurt?+

Most patients find cleanings comfortable. You may feel some pressure or mild sensitivity, especially if you have tartar buildup or sensitive gums. Our hygienists are gentle and will work with you to make sure you're comfortable throughout your visit.

What's the difference between a regular cleaning and a deep cleaning?+

A regular cleaning (prophylaxis) removes plaque and tartar above the gum line and is part of routine preventive care. A deep cleaning (scaling and root planing) treats gum disease by cleaning below the gum line. We'll let you know which type you need based on the health of your gums.
